Composer, singer and performer Himesh Reshammiya is set to make a significant return to Bollywood’s music scene, lending his voice and compositions to five upcoming feature films, marking one of his busiest stretches in the industry in recent years.
His upcoming slate includes Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari, scheduled for release on November 27. The same day is also set to see the release of Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Gunmaaster G9’, another film carrying Himesh’s music. Beyond these, he is associated with Anil Sharma’s ‘Arjun Naga’, featuring Utkarsh Sharma and Arjun Rampal, Vikram Bhatt’s horror film ‘1920 Cold Winter’, starring Ahan Shetty and Anya Singh, and Sunny Deol’s ‘Suryaa’, a remake directed by M Padmakumar.
Himesh, who first made his mark as a music director with 1998’s ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ and went on to define much of Bollywood’s music in the 2000s with albums and songs including ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’, ‘Tera Surroor’, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ and ‘Tanhaiyaan’, was ranked 22nd on Bloomberg’s World’s Most Influential Pop-stars list in August 2025, the only Indian artist to feature on it. He also returned to acting last year with ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’, a spin-off from his character in 2014’s ‘The Xpose’, marking his first film role in five years since 2020’s ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’.
With music landscapes having shifted considerably since Himesh’s peak years, driven by short-form video, background scoring trends and increasingly global listening habits, his return with five films at once will be watched closely to see whether his distinctive sound can find renewed traction with today’s audiences.
